Fun with the Tates

Last weekend we went Salt Lake with our friends the Tates (Wendy Hallows) and we had so much fun together! We took pictures of them for their Christmas cards and they did the same for us.

It was really fun and we ate at Macaroni Grill! Yum!

About a month ago we went to Nickle Cade with them. It was really ghetto! I think they bought of all the games from Play Town and Kids Castle. They even had Big Bertha!

Here's Ale beating up on those crabs!

We still have as much fun together as we did from Kindergarten to high school!

Thanks Tates for the fun times together!

The Curious Case of Alejandro Valquinto

My husband has an obsession, anyone want to guess what it is? Not sports or hunting but cars! Buying and selling cars is his thing! We have been married for 15 months and just this weekend he bought his 5th car since we have been married. This is a very regular thing. This post is dedicated to those many cars we have driven together.

This is Beautiful Blue, the Lancer he drove when we first got married. He treated us well!

This is Coby the Cobalt. I definately was not a fan and luckily we quickly got rid of him!

This is the first Audi we had and it gave us trouble at first (the transmission went out the day we bought it!) but in the end it was a really good car. He was never given a name

This is Chuckles. Alejandro was obsessed with VW Rabbits for about 2 months and had to get this one. We only drove him for about 1 1/2 months. Chuckles was a good car.

This is Jamal. Our family's newest addition. Ale got a really good deal on it. It is a 2003 Audi A4. I am definitely glad to heated seats again!
To feed the obsession, Ale wants to open a car dealership in about a year or two. He is really getting experience through selling all these cars and finding good deals! How many cars have you had since you have been married?...or single!

Happy Halloween!

On Friday was my cousin Brooke's wedding reception and so we drove to Salt Lake and then hung out with Laura and Dave. We went to their home and carved pumpkins! It was really fun and Alejandro's first time carving a pumpkin! Can you believe it?!

These are all of our pumpkins.
Dave- Yankees
Ale- Freaky face
Laura-Mr. Meowkins
Me- Harry Potter

My cute husband with his first ever carved pumpkin! He was pretty creative and gave it 3-D ears!

We are still alive and happy!

We have been busy this summer! I graduated yeah! Probably everyone who checks our blogs knows that but oh well! The pictures are reversed but for the 4th of July we met Ale's parents in St. George and had a vacation at Jackson Hole with my family in August. This is us at the antler arch.
The top of our hike. We are not very outdoor-sy so we did not finish the rest of the 2 miles with Rebe and Tyler and Laura and Dave...

Now we are moved to Ogden and settled in our new home! Alejandro has started school and is working on campus and at a dealer ship. He is doing great! I am working full time at The Window Box and thoroughly being in Utah and opposed to Idaho!

Birthday and 1/2 Marathon!

2 weeks ago we celebrated my birthday with my parents and my sister Laura and her husband Dave. Since the Teton Dam marathon was on the same day as my birthday, I invited them up to run the 1/2 with us and enjoy a little bit of Rexburg! They came up on Friday and we went to a potato bake dinner that they held so all of the runners could carb load! We eat a beautiful cake from Mrs. Baker's that night and opened presents. My mom gave me a cake stand with is so cute! I also got a skirt and two tops, serving dishes, a pink polka dotted pitcher and some new running shoes.

This is the cake from Mrs. Baker's. It was beautiful and delicious. This is the third cake I have had from this bakery. The first was for my 18th birthday and then at my Window Box bridal shower. You can't let florists down with a cake like this!

The next morning was the race and I was really nervous! 8 miles was the furthest distance I had ever ran and so I was expecting to have to walk around mile ten. I was worried about Alejandro too because he had gotten hurt the night before in his soccer game. Ale left us pretty fast but Popcan, Laura, Dave and I kept pretty close the whole time. Popcan ran with me the whole race which helped me a lot. I did really well and did not get very worn out the whole race! At mile 12 Popcan and I passed Laura and Dave and so Laura started sprinting to catch up with us. She thought she beat us at the end but our times ended up being the exact same! I came in at 2 hours and 23 minutes and Ale came in at 1 hour 58 minutes!

Ale and I after the marathon. Our legs were getting so sore!

Popcan, Laura, Dave, Ale and me

After the race we went and sat in the hot tub (which was colder than bath water) and my family's hotel. It felt really good and helped us relax. We then went over to Idaho Falls and saw the Titanic exhibit at the museum and then got dinner at this very good restaurant called the Snake Bite. It was such a fun weekend!

We had visitors yesterday. My friend from Layton Mindy called me and said she was in Idaho! I love when people come up here! We have her and her friend BJ over for dinner and got to talk and catch up. Thanks for visiting!

Our 2nd BODA Bride!!!

The first picture is from our first bride, the second is Wendy's bouquet.

Can anyone believe that I am updating the blog?! For the record, I have tried previously to post a cool post but ended up in a utter failier! Well Ale and I started a business call Boda Design. Boda, meaning wedding in Spanish. We do flowers for weddings. It is very fun and we hope to expand and promote more when we move to Ogden. My friend Wendy was our second Boda Bride and we were very successful and had a lot of fun. Hope you enjoy the photos! Can anyone tell me how to put text above my pictures? I cannot figure out this blog thing!

Crime in Rexburg Escalating!

In the school newspaper they post police reports and what was listed today was frightening. I don't know how long I want to live in this crime infested city! Crimes:
  1. Theft of a doughnut from a business
  2. Malicious injury to a door caused door jam in apartment
  3. Civil dispute over damaged grass; neighbor damaged grass while plowing snow
  4. 911 hangups
I never thought I would be living in such an unsafe place.
